The Taff Trail

Merthyr Tydfil

Start: Merthyr Tydfil Leisure Village
End: Cefn Coed Viaduct
Distance: 2.32 miles (approx)

The entrance into Merthyr Tydfil from the south takes you adjacent to the river once more passing Merthyr Leisure Village to the west. There are plenty of large eateries here including Frankie and Benny's, Nandos and Subway.

Why not give Tasty Trotters a try - great food and drink, just off the Taff Trail near Trago Mills. You can find out more on their Facebook page.

The trail through Merthyr is lovely on a sunny day (and not too bad in the rain either!). You will travel through mainly built-up areas for the majority of the stretch, at least as far as Swansea Road (A4102) towards the north of the town where you'll join the off-road stretch on the run up to Cefn Coed-y-Cymmer.
